What is secure attachment in the first place?

You’ll learn what attachment is, the defining traits of different attachment strategies, and how to see the warning signs across different areas of your life and behavior. Not only that, but you’ll glimpse the impact this attachment injury may be having on your relationships, career, and meaningful pursuits. This framework is a helpful starting place, giving you the keys to understand the root problem and to see the reparative path forward.

How do you know if you need attachment repair in the second place?

George shares the point-of-view for each attachment strategy, and what needs to change in order to earn security (if you don’t already have it). By getting a lay of the land here, you can develop self-clarity, and a succinct understanding of what it takes to end dysfunctional patterns, retire habits that are holding you back, and heal your own injury.

And not only that, you’ll also learn what to expect along the way on this path of healing. What can you look out for? How does this style of repair differ from other interventions you may have already tried?

A Path to Living a Truly Meaningful Life

You’ll learn about the meditative attachment approach we offer at Mettagroup to support our students and clients in earning secure attachment. This winning combination is what has helped hundreds of our students (including George Haas) earn secure attachment and end so many of the patterns that once held us back.

Embrace your true passions. Have reciprocally supportive and collaborative relationships. Thrive in your career. Live life with less anxiety, fear, and blockage. We’re here to share that this is possible for you. George explains what this path entails and what to expect on the other side.

The old destructive patterns don’t stand a chance against the Mettagroup Method.

Once you’ve gained an understanding of the concepts and differences between attachment strategies, the difficulties you have in past relationships all start to make sense.

Here at Mettagroup, we combine three ingredients - remapping attachment conditioning (using IPF), mentalizing and emotional regulation (using meditation), and psychoeducation about how secure relationships and collaboration function. With meditation, we offer specific types of practices that guide in the attachment repair process.

This winning combination is what has helped hundreds of our students (including myself) earn secure attachment and end so many of the patterns that once held us back.

Oftentimes, my students can’t believe they’ve waited so long to make these connections.

But the good news is, it’s not too late!

Meet George Haas,
Founding Teacher at Mettagroup

George Haas is the founder of Mettagroup and a meditation teacher with more than 25 years of experience integrating contemplative practice, attachment theory, and developmental psychology. Since 2000, he has taught meditation to thousands of students worldwide, developing a unique approach that combines Buddhist insight practices with modern attachment repair methods.

George is best known for pioneering the Mettagroup Method, an innovative framework that helps individuals cultivate earned secure attachment through meditation, visualization, and relational practices. Drawing from attachment theory, neuroscience, Ideal Parent Figure Protocol, and the Buddhist path of awakening, his work offers a practical and transformative approach to healing relational wounds and fostering greater emotional resilience, connection, and well-being.

He is the creator of Mettagroup's Meditation x Attachment programs and host of the podcast I Love You, Keep Going, where he explores meditation, psychology, attachment, and personal transformation. George's teachings have helped establish attachment repair as a powerful complement to traditional mindfulness practice, supporting both personal healing and professional development for therapists, coaches, counselors, and meditation teachers around the world.

Over the last 40 years, he has accumulated this knowledge about how to heal attachment injury (through both learning and experience). He earned security at the age of 65 after living most of his life complexly disorganized.

His mission is to share this blueprint in a distilled, manageable way so that people don’t need to go through years of confusion and suffering like he did.

Harvard psychologist, the late Dr. Dan Brown, founded IPF (Ideal Parent Figure Protocol) and co-authored the textbook Attachment Disturbances in Adults: Treatment for Comprehensive Repair.

According to Dr. Dan Brown's research, it takes 40 to 150 guided IPF sessions, to go from insecure attachment to earned security. That’s profound, swift results (we’re talking ~ 3 years). George spent most of his life (5 decades) exhaustively exploring all the wrong paths, so it’s his true honor to share what’s worked for him and hundreds of students, with long-lasting and life-enhancing effects.

Move Beyond the Persistent Blockages of Anxiety, Anger + Disconnect

If you’re feeling limited around the ways you can explore, the endeavors you pursue and the life you’re building for yourself, please know that you’re not alone.

There is a path forward. Small steps, little by little, and you can earn security and move forward in life without the burdens of challenging emotions holding you back.

The familiar, life-long, heart-breaking pattern, completely unstoppable, impervious to all forms of intervention: this can be a thing of the past for you.

“I'm better than I've ever been.”

“I just want to share, that it's been six years, a big journey, a big journey. But guess what? I've earned secure. Today I found out that I've earned secure. I know a lot of you won't know what that means, but some of you might. I got my attachment assessment inventory back today and I'm secure. I'm better than I've ever been.”
